Chinese center Xu Xin working through final steps to join BYU hoops

By Bjorn Bergstrom, BYU Cougars Wire: Head coach Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars‘ search for a starting center for the 2026-27 season has been well-documented, with several transfer portal guys and overseas players passing up on the chance to walk in as the Cougars’ starter down low.

But at long last, and confirming previous reports of being in contact, Young has narrowed down a target and the process of getting Chinese center Xu Xin to the college ranks has begun.

Though it's not official, it appears that the BYU Cougars have finally found a starting center that will command the spot down low in 2026-27.
