Canzano: OSU made lousy pres. hire, but can still be on right side of history

By John Canzano, OregonLive: A thoughtful reader sent me a passage from an Oregon State message board that rings too true to ignore.

The author of the post pointed out that it wasn’t that long ago that Oregon State stole Wisconsin’s football coach, Gary Andersen. He was a proven winner and Beavers fans celebrated his hire. But nobody in Corvallis thought to ask why Andersen would leave a football program with rich tradition, good momentum and better funding.
