By Ryan McDonald, Deseret News: The BYU Cougars football program added to its 2027 recruiting class Wednesday with a prospect who has, in recruiting parlance, “blown up” in just the last week or so.
Maa’imoa “Moa” Havili, a defensive lineman who preps at Utah’s Granger High, announced his pledge to the Cougars on social media Wednesday night.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and just shy of 300 pounds, Havili didn’t have many scholarship offers until last week, according to a story from On3’s Greg Biggins, but he was fantastic in the presence of a bunch of college coaches at two showcase events in Utah last week and a bevy of scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Michigan and other Power Four programs followed.
