Without Deion Sanders dealing with the day-to-day duties due to cancer treatments, his staff has stepped up tremendously. One of those has been Warren Sapp.

The Buffs rushing defense last year ranked 71st in the nation, allowing 3.8 yards per carry and 150.7 yards per game.

The Buffs lost some significant playmakers on the back end of their defense that will require the team to be a lot more physical up front in the trenches. And the only way that is going to happen is if the defensive linemen are in shape and ready to play in that Boulder atmosphere
