By BruinReportOnline Staff: In November, CBS put out a CBB program top 25 ranking, which used a points system to rank each NCAA basketball program throughout history. Basically, teams get points for tournament success, conference success, wins, players drafted, etc. The exact point breakdown is in the article. You can argue about whether any one item gets too much or too little weight (I think championships should probably be worth a little more), but I think the end result was pretty close to most folks’ perceptions.
