By Sam Marsdale, 247Sports: Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith told ESPN’s Pete Thamel Tuesday at Big Ten Media Days that 16 teams is a common number discussed among conference leadership when it comes to further College Football Playoff expansion. Smith told ESPN that 16 teams “just seems to be out there.”
