By Kevin Flaherty, 247Sports: After a disappointing 3-9 season, Baylor is expected to hire a long-time offensive coach with Big 12 and Texas ties for its open offensive coordinator job, tapping Jake Spavital, according to 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello.
Spavital spent this past season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at California. Baylor struggled all over the field this year, and the offense wasn’t an exception, leading the Bears to fire offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes after Baylor produced 377.8 yards and 23.1 points per game. The latter figure ranked 98th out of 133 FBS teams.
