By Athlon Sports: Cal had big ambitions for 2020, including the belief that a Pac-12 North title was within reach. Then the COVID-19 pandemic knocked the Bears off their stride. They managed to play just four games, had linemen in quarantine for two of them and self-destructed in two others.
Finally intact, the Bears believe they showed their true colors in a 21–17 win over then-21st-ranked Oregon in what turned out to be their final game.
