By Steven Lassan, Athlon Sports: Boise State fired coach Andy Avalos on Sunday. Co-defensive coordinator Spencer Danielson will work as the team’s interim coach for the remainder of the 2023 college football season.
Avalos seemed like a home-run hire when he took over in ’21. The former Boise State linebacker was a successful defensive coordinator with the program and had a stint as the play-caller at Oregon from 2019-20.
