By Trevor Booth, Sun Devil Source: Frank Darby returned to Arizona State’s football facilities for his Pro Day on Monday the same way he left them several months ago, with an infectious smile and energy that long brightened his coaches and teammates. But for a moment, the former Sun Devil wideout reflected on something especially somber.
During a ‘Zoom’ conference with local reporters, Darby revealed that his mother died unexpectedly about three weeks ago. He was training in Florida at the time, and the news led him to pause his preparations for the 2021 NFL Draft.
