ASU unveils historic white helmets for CU game to celebrate Sparky’s birthday

By David Veenstra, Arizona Sports: ASU football will be wearing the classic Sparky logo on white helmets for the first time in school history Saturday.

The Sun Devils will be wearing the helmets to celebrate Sparky’s 79th birthday, which is on Nov. 20.

Nov. 20, 1946 is the official date when the Arizona State University Student Council first adopted Sparky as the mascot.
