When Arizona State coach Herm Edwards unveiled his team’s captains for the 2020 season and Lucas was not selected, he felt gutted. Then a fifth-year senior who started four years and prepped just 15 minutes away from Tempe at Chandler High, Lucas felt he had done more than enough to earn a leadership title. But it was not given to him.
