Arguments, testimony begin in Doug Brenner’s suit against UO, NCAA, Taggart

By James Crepea, The Oregonian/OregonLive: Opening arguments and the beginning of witness testimony were heard Wednesday during the second day of the civil trial in the case of former Oregon Ducks offensive lineman Doug Brenner against former UO football coach Willie Taggart, former UO strength and conditioning coach Irele Oderinde, the University of Oregon and the NCAA.

Four lawyers used more than four hours of proceedings in Lane County Circuit Court to address a host of issues tied to Brenner’s lawsuit, which is seeking $125.5 million for punitive damages, pain and suffering and future medical expenses related to his January 2017 hospitalization and rhabdomyolysis diagnosis following offseason football workouts.
