By Erik Skopil, Duck Territory: There were other football playing avenues made available to Anthony Brown this year. After playing sparingly during a year ago, Brown could’ve sought professional opportunities or even alternatives at the collegiate level.
Few would have blamed him had he left. After all he had acted as Tyler Shough’s backup all of last season and only saw the field in the final two games. Yet, Brown chose to remain in Eugene this spring. He’s made the most of it too. He’s held on to the first-team quarterback gig throughout spring, as the open quarterback competition begins to feel less and less like an open one, and more and more like it will eventually be given to Brown.
