247Sports:Â College football will deal with the coronavirus in 2020, meaning players and coaches needing to make major adjustments on and off the field. Not only will players and coaches make their adjustments to adhere to safety guidelines, the officiating crews have their own set of protocols.
The referees have far less contact with each other and with the players, but the NCAA instituted protocols for the officials to remain safe. On Thursday night, during one of the first college football games of the season, those protocols were revealed.
