By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: It is officially poll season, college football fans! Seriously, opening weekend is a few weeks away, which means the Associated Press preseason top 25 will be revealed in a few days marking the unofficial end of talking season and moment to make final preparations for the season.
The preseason coaches poll came out earlier this week with no major surprises outside of Alabama not being this year’s unanimous No. 1. The defending national champions received 63 first-place votes from coaches across the country, while the other two went to Oklahoma. Lincoln Riley’s team is expected to be loaded this fall with returning Heisman candidate Spencer Rattler and a mass of starters back on the other side of the football.
