By Chris Hummer, 247Sports: This time a year ago, there was a ton of preseason Heisman hype surrounding Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs. A new addition from Georgia Tech via the transfer portal, Gibbs more than lived up to that hype and ended up as a first-round pick.
But he wasn’t the only transfer to blow up. There were 52 non-JUCO transfers drafted in 2023, including a first-rounder like Christian Gonzalez, who came to Oregon via Colorado with far less fanfare than Gibbs received.
