NFL logoWeek Eight in the NFL saw some phenomenal performances from players who played collegiately in the West.

Each week, we highlight the region’s best pro performances from the standout alumni veterans and rookies

Here are my choices for the best of them.


Top NFL Performances

1. Jordan Love, QB, Packers/Utah State

Jordan LoveThe former Aggie was outstanding on Sunday Night as he outdueled Aaron Rodgers, propelling the Packers to a win over the Steelers.

Love threw for 360 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.4% of his passes.

2. Bo Nix, QB, Broncos/Oregon

Nix continued his strong second season with 247 yards passing and four passing TDs in Denver’s win Bo Nixover Dallas.

The four passing TDs were the most in a game this season for the former Duck and matched his career high.

This was the third time he has thrown four touchdowns in his season and a half in the league.

3. Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers/Oregon

Herbert threw for 227 yards and added another 62 yards on the ground in the Chargers’ win on Justin Herbert 2Thursday Night.

The former Duck tossed three TDs with just one interception and a passer rating of 122.8 as LA beat the Vikings.

This was his 36th career game with at least two touchdown passes and a passer rating of 100-or-higher, tied with Russell Wilson for the second most such games in their first six seasons in NFL history.

4. Kaden Elliss, LB, Falcons/Idaho

Kaden EllissElliss tallied a season-high 12 tackles in the Falcons’ loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.

The former Vandal also collected a pair of tackles for loss and had a pass defended.

His 12 stops on the day matched the second-highest single-game tally in his seven-year career.

5. Troy Franklin, WR, Broncos/Oregon

Troy FranklinThe second-year receiver out of Oregon had one of the best games of his two-year career in the Broncos’ win over Dallas.

He caught a career-high eight passes and matched his career high with 89 receiving yards.

He also found the end zone twice, the first multi-score game of his pro career.

6. Josh Allen, QB, Bills/Wyoming

Josh Allen put up modest stats in the Bills’ dismantling of the Panthers, throwing for 163 yards on just 19 pass attempts and rushing for seven yards.

Josh Allen mug (1)He made the most of the limited numbers with a TD pass and two on the ground. Allen has 46 career games with both a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown, the most such games in NFL history.

The former UW star also has 70 career regular-season rushing touchdowns and joined Cam Newton as the only quarterbacks with at least 70 regular-season rushing touchdowns in NFL history.

7. Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers/Stanford

Christian McCaffreyMcCaffrey did not put up stellar numbers in the 49ers’ loss to the Texans, but he did once again make some history.

The former Stanford star ended Sunday with 68 combined yards on 11 touches.

McCaffrey now has 6,877 rushing yards and 5,025 receiving yards in his career and is the fifth player all-time with at least 5,000 rushing and 5,000 receiving yards. Three of the other four players are in the Hall of Fame.

8. Rome Odunze, WR, Bears/Washington

Rome OdunzeThe former Husky had a productive afternoon on Sunday despite the Bears falling to Baltimore.

He ended the day with seven receptions for 114 yards.

His yardage total was his second-highest single-game mark as a professional.

9. Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Colts/USC

Michael PIttmanThe former Trojan had an outstanding game for the Colts in their win over the Titans.

He led Indianapolis with 95 yards on a season-high eight receptions and found the end zone once.

Two of his receptions were highlight reel worthy.

10. Woody Marks, RB, Texans/USC (R)

Woody MarksMarks collected 111 total scrimmage yards for Houston in their win over San Francisco.

The former Trojan led the Texans in rushing with 62 yards on the ground and added another 49 in the passing game with four receptions.

11. Alex Singleton, LB, Broncos/Montana State

Alex SingletonSingleton continues to shine for the Broncos this season.

Against the Cowboys, he ended up with 11 tackles, marking the third time this season the former Bobcat has recorded double-digit tackles in a contest.

Singleton also forced a fumble.

12. Carson Schwesinger, LB, Browns/UCLA (R)

Carson SchwesingerThe former Bruin collected seven tackles during the Browns’ loss to the Patriots.

The rookie recorded an interception for his first career pick.

13. Jaylinn Hawkins, S, Patriots/California

Jaylinn HawkinsThe former Golden Bear collected five total tackles in the Patriots’ win over the Browns and added an interception.

The pick was his second of the season and his first since the opener against the Raiders.

14. Bobby Okereke, LB, Giants/Stanford

Bobby OkerekeThe former Cardinal led the Giants in tackles in the loss to the Eagles.

Okereke ended the game with eight total tackles and got to Jalen Hurts twice, recording one sack and a hurry.

15. Justin Reid, S, Saints/Stanford

Justin ReidThe former Stanford star logged seven total tackles and led the Saints with four solo stops.

In the loss to Tampa Bay, he recorded a half a sack and one QB hit.

Caleb Williams, QB, Bears/USC—285 yards passing, 44 rushing

Tetairoa McMillian, WR, Panthers/Arizona (R)—7 receptions for 99 yards

Tyler Huntley, QB, Ravens/Utah—186 yards passing, 1 TD, 53 yards rushing

Dillon Gabriel, QB, Browns/Oregon (R)—156 passing, 2 TDs, 13 yards rushing

Jeremy McNichols, RB, Commanders/Boise State—5 rushes for 64 yards

Bobby Wagner, LB, Commanders/Utah State—10 tackles, 7 solo, one pass defended

Khalil Shakir, WR, Bills/Boise State—6 reception for 88 yards, 1 TD
