With Pac-12 football just a few weeks away, we continue our rewind of the 2019 season by flashing back to Week Seven.

Highlights & Overview of Week Seven 2019 Games

Week Seven of the 2019 season saw five Pac-12 football games and one nonconference contest, with USC visiting No. 9 Notre Dame. . No. 13 Oregon hosted Colorado, No. 18 Arizona State hosted Washington State, No. 15 Utah traveled to Oregon State, and Washington visited Arizona. Cal, Stanford and UCLA had a bye.

Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk, Oregon’s Verone McKinley III, and Arizona’s Lucas Havrisik were the Pac-12 Players of the Week.

No. 18 ASU 38, WSU 34

Jayden Daniels’s winning drive, capped by an acrobatic leap into the end zone with 34 seconds left, was the stuff of legends. The Cougars came ready to play, grabbing an early 17-7 lead, testing ASU’s resolve throughout, and the Sun Devils answered. The dramatic win set up what would be the then-most consequential Conference test in the Herm Edwards Era the following week against Utah.

No. 9 Notre Dame 30, USC 27

The Trojans showed plenty of heart in their attempted comeback against the Fighting Irish. Clearly, the officials didn’t do them any favors in blowing a critical ball placement, but USC showed it can hang with one of the nation’s most talented teams. Quarterback Kedon Slovis’ return gave SC reason for optimism going forward with his 255 yards and two touchdowns passing. Meanwhile, running back Markese Stepp breathed new life into a previously stagnant ground attack rushing for 82 yards on ten carries.

No. 13 Oregon 45, Colorado 3

Great teams get stops and finish drives when they matter most. That’s what the Ducks did in picking off the Buffs with under two minutes left in the first half, stopping a Colorado drive inside the five, and driving the length of the field for a score. The Buffs never recovered, becoming the fifth-straight opponent to put up seven points or less against Oregon. Unfortunately, the Ducks lost Jacob Breeland for the season with a knee injury.

No. 15 Utah 52, Oregon State 7

The Utes dominated Oregon State completely. The return of running back Zack Moss gave the already potent Utah offense a boost, beginning with his 91-yard touchdown scamper in the first quarter. The Ute defense stifled prolific Beaver quarterback Jake Luton, holding him to 131 yards, no touchdowns, and forced an interception. By contrast, Utah signal caller Tyler Huntley looked calm and collected throughout, throwing for 247 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington 51, Arizona 27

With its season on the line, Washington blew the contest open with a 38-point explosion in the final two quarters, setting the stage for Oregon’s visit to Seattle the following week.
