By Jamey Vinnick, CougFan: Blake Fernandez had his plan. Once he finished his college basketball career at Western Washington, he was going to become a doctor. That plan began with a gap year, and was supposed to be followed by MCATs and medical school.
But as the new Washington State assistant hoops coach was volunteering at a hospital, he got a call from his high school coach Nalim Sood.
