The mother of Washington State wide receiver Kassidy Woods on Sunday released audio of a taped weekend conversation her son had with Cougars first-year coach Nick Rolovich, during which Woods revealed he was opting out this season and joining the Pac-12’s unity movement, a player-led group wanting the league to meet demands and adhere to safety-first measures amid unprecedented anxiousness in college football.
Theo Watson of The Spokesman-Review tweeted a conversation on Sunday he had with John Woods, Kassidy’s father, who told the newspaper his son was one of several “released” after sharing a #WeAreUnited graphic on social media.
On Monday night Washington State head coach Nick Rolovich released a statement.
