By Jason Scheer, Wildcat Authority: Sources indicate to WildcatAuthority.com that Duane Akina will be Arizona’s new defensive coordinator. Akina is currently in Tucson and has been helping Arizona head coach Brent Brennan with the transition and hiring of a defensive staff.
He took a defensive analyst position with Texas before Jedd Fisch was hired at Washington, but his relationship with Brennan through Dick Tomey played a large role in his decision to come back.
