Why Dawson Baker is eager to be a ‘pioneer’ as BYU hoops enters the Big 12

By Jeff Call, Deseret News: Just as BYU’s basketball program has waited a long time to compete in a Power Five conference, recent signee Dawson Baker has also waited a relatively long time for the opportunity to play at the highest level.

Growing up, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard from Coto de Caza, California, harbored hopes of playing college hoops, preferably at BYU. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he knows a lot of passionate Cougars fans and a few of his siblings have attended BYU.
