Washington hires Utah State's Brett Arkelian as special teams analyst

By Lars Hanson, Huskies Wire: The Washington Huskies have hired Utah State special teams analyst Brett Arkelian to the same position, filling an open position created by the departure of former assistant special teams coach Greg Froelich to Bowling Green last month.

Arkelian, pronounced “Are-kelly-en”, comes to the Huskies after two seasons as an analyst for the Aggies, working primarily with junior place kicker Tanner Rinker.

Washington will once again have two coaches working on specials teams in 2026 after added a rising analyst to work alongside Chris Petrilli.
