247Sports: Utah head football coach Kyle Whittingham and athletic director Mark Harlan have released statements after the news of the death of Utah running back Ty Jordan that broke on Saturday morning. The school released those statements on Saturday morning.
News broke on Saturday morning that Jordan, the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, died at the age of 19. A media spokesman for the Denton (Texas) Police Department told The Salt Lake Tribune that officers found a single gunshot victim and that the gun had been accidentally fired, causing the shooting. He then died at the hospital.
