New USC defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn brought with him the promise of change for a beleaguered USC defense that finished No. 113 in the FBS in points allowed per drive. When we first spoke to him, Lynn was on the road recruiting and still finding his way through the whirlwind departure from UCLA’s staff to immediate immersion in the Trojans’ December push for its 2024 class of high school signees.
