By Chris Trevino, USCFootball.com: USC assistant coach Kiel McDonald is set to join the NFL ranks, hired by Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers as their new running backs coach, first reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter and confirmed by 247Sports Matt Zenith early Thursday morning.
This will be the first departure on Riley’s offensive staff since he arrived at USC; Riley hired four new defensive coaches this winter, led by defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn and former Los Angeles Rams defensive line coach Eric Henderson.
