By Adam Bradford, Trojans Wire: Over the past few weeks, much has been made of the proposed Big Ten private equity deal that is on the table. Under the deal, firm UC Investments would invest $2.4 billion into the conference, and would receive 10% of the league’s media and sponsorship revenue through 2046. In addition, the league would extend its grant of rights with all 18 schools through 2046, locking them in for the next two decades.
Along with Michigan, USC had been one of two schools with the strongest vocal opposition to the deal. In her latest “State of Troy” update last week, athletic director Jennifer Cohen discussed the Trojans’ stance on the issue.
