247Sports: Mississippi State’s road upset of LSU immediately shook up the SEC and the national rankings in the league’s first weekend of football. Not only did the result itself send a message to the rest of the conference, but the way the Bulldogs did it — with over 600 passing yards — signaled that new coach Mike Leach’s Air Raid offense is going to be a massive pain to deal with this fall.
That wasn’t the only surprising result last weekend, however. Kansas State pulled a big upset over Oklahoma that probably had more College Football Playoff implications, and a number of other teams looked better than expected.
