Duck Territory: University of Oregon president Michael Schill cast his vote in favor of a fall return to football on Thursday afternoon. He was not alone, as the other 11 members of the Pac-12 CEO Group, which Schill chairs, followed suit in a unanimous 12-0 decision in favor of starting the season in November.
The core reason listed by the conference for bringing the sport back roughly two months than previously planned, was the agreement with the Quidel Corporation to improve the league’s testing. The conference can now boast daily COVID-19 tests providing better safety for the league’s football players.
