Unranked Colorado women’s basketball shocks No. 1 Stanford

BuffZone: This one might have made up for last year.

The unranked Colorado women’s basketball team shocked No. 1 Stanford, 77-72 in overtime, on Sunday at CU Events Center, behind a career-high 32 points from senior Mya Hollingshed.

 

 

This is the first time in CU history it has upset the No. 1 team in the country and it is the Buffs’ first win against a top-five team in nearly 18 years.

Mya Hollingshed has been through enough heart-breaking losses that she had to pause for a split second Sunday afternoon to make sure she could celebrate after the final buzzer.
