By Isaac Trotter, 247Sports: Ten of the last 12 national championship winners opened, stayed and closed inside Ken Pomeroy’s top-11 ratings throughout the entire season. Conveniently, UConn (both in 2011 and 2014) were the outliers of the group.
If history repeats itself, there are only five teams left who have lived inside those parameters this season: Houston, Purdue, Arizona, Tennessee and UConn (hello, again).
But this is anything but a normal season. The transfers, the fifth-year seniors, late additions and midseason arrivals have thrown college basketball into a tizzy. It feels wide open.
