Zemek: Pac-12 admirably standing against ESPN and SEC, but at what cost?

By Matt Zemek, Trojans Wire: The official announcement of the Pac-12’s alliance with the Big Ten and the ACC on Tuesday will create a lot more speculation in the world of college sports, but the main point of this convergence is to slow down the fast-tracking of a 12-team College Football Playoff plan which is friendly to the SEC, and to accordingly reduce the influence ESPN has over the sport.

Narrowly and in an immediate context, that’s a very good and healthy goal.
