Week four in saw some upsets—including a Top 10 team going down at home.

One of our marquee games of the week lived up to the hype in the double-overtime thriller between Clemson and Wake Forest.

The week ahead offers a few matchups that will help decide which teams are true contenders and which may be pretenders.

We can only hope those games are as entertaining as the one in Winston-Salem last on Saturday.

1. Georgia Bulldogs 4-0 (Last week: 1)

Last Week: Beat Kent State 39-22

The Bulldogs had their worst performance of the season, turning the ball over three times leading to 10 of the Flashes’ 22 points.

Georgia has still outscored opponents 176-32 on the season.

This week they looked far less machine-like, but the Bulldogs are still the top team in the nation at this point.

Next Week: At Missouri

2. Ohio State Buckeyes 4-0 (3)

Last Week: Beat Wisconsin 52-21

The Buckeyes amassed 539 yards of total offense while holding Wisconsin to 296 and scored at will on the Badgers in the first half.

usc logoThis is a case of Oregon State being a really good team more than anything else.

The Trojans went on the road and picked up a win against a quality opponent.

Next Week: vs Arizona State

7. Oklahoma State Cowboys 3-0 (8)

Last Week: BYE

Oklahoma State enjoyed a bye week.

I use the word “enjoyed” as I’m sure any Cowboy fan had a very entertaining day watching Texas lose in overtime and were euphoric when the Sooners fell to Kansas State.

The Cowboys will have a test for themselves this week in Waco.

Next Week: At Baylor

8. NC State Wolfpack 4-0 (9)

Last Week: Beat UConn 41-10

The Wolfpack are 4-0 for the first time since 2018.

ACC play opens with a bang this Saturday with a huge showdown with Clemson.

Next Week: At Clemson

9. Kentucky Wildcats 4-0 (10)

Last Week: Beat Northern Illinois 31-23

Next Week: vs Oregon State

Defensively, Washington ended the game with eight sacks and 10 tackles for loss.

Next Week: At UCLA

16. Texas A&M Aggies 3-1 (17)

Last Week: Beat Arkansas 23-21 in Arlington

The Aggies’ win was not the prettiest of wins, but much like their Miami win, it was a win.

Next Week: vs Purdue

19. Arkansas Razorbacks 3-1 (11)

A go-ahead FG in the final minute hit the top of the upright and came straight down into the end zone and that was the decider in Arlington.

Bumper Pool collected seven tackles to make him the Razorback all-time leader with 385 for his career.

Arkansas welcomes Alabama to Fayetteville this week, a win in that one, and the A&M loss is forgotten.

Next Week: vs Alabama
