Shaw: Stanford’s success due to better academics than NWU, Vanderbilt, Duke

Stanford posted a record of 120-58 between the tenures of Harbaugh and coach David Shaw, including six seasons with 10 or more wins and three Pac-12 titles

Although the Cardinal have not won the Pac-12 since 2015, they remain as one of the top two programs among the FBS’ elite academic schools alongside Northwestern. Stanford visits Vanderbilt Saturday for a game between two of the most-selective schools in the Power Five.
