By San Diego State Athletics: After falling 3-0 to Fresno State on Thursday, the San Diego State softball team won two elimination games on Friday in the Mountain West Tournament to earn a rematch with the Bulldogs on Saturday for the tournament championship.
The Aztecs needed to beat Fresno State twice to come out on top. In the first game, Julie Holcomb hit a two-run triple to center field in the third inning and scored on a bunt while Cece Cellura and Dee Dee Hernandez limited the Bulldogs to one run in the sixth inning for a 3-1 win to force a winner-take-all game.
