By John Talty, CBS Sports: Rutgers athletic director Pat Hobbs resigned unexpectedly Friday, effective immediately, a source confirmed to CBS Sports.

Rutgers deputy athletic director Ryan Pisarri is expected to serve as interim athletic director, according to multiple reports.
