By Connor Morrissette, USCFootball.com: USC is “likely” to hire Mike Ekeler as special teams coordinator, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Ekeler is a veteran coach who spent last season as Nebraska’s special teams coordinator. Ekeler was Tennessee’s outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator for four seasons before going to Nebraska. He’s coached at a handful of other FBS programs including USC, where Ekeler was a linebacker coach in 2013.
It’s currently unclear how Ekeler’s hire impacts USC’s staff.
