By Connor Morrissette, USCFootball.com: New USC defensive coordinator Gary Patterson continues to shape the Trojans’ defensive staff since officially being hired last week. After bringing on former Baylor and TCU secondary coach Paul Gonzales, USC is expected to hire former TCU safety and Louisiana Tech safeties coach Sam Carter for a role on the team’s defensive staff as well, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
Carter spent one season at Louisiana Tech. Before that, Carter was the cornerbacks coach at Purdue for two seasons. He’s also spent time coaching defensive backs in the SEC at Missouri, Arkansas and Ole Miss.
