Ranking 2024 CFB coaches with best shot at first national championship

Unless Georgia’s Kirby Smart or Clemson’s Dabo Swinney manages a title, the likelihood is high since the only other active coach with a championship is UNC’s Mack Brown — and Tar Heels are not in position to compete for a crown.

Parity unfolded in the playoff each of the past three seasons after Cincinnati, TCU, Texas and Michigan were all first-time entrants.
