The Apple Valley High School graduate, needing a change of scenery, entered the transfer portal and soon knew where he would be heading — back home to California, about a three-hour drive down Interstate 15 from his home in Apple Valley.
After spending the last three seasons at the University of Michigan, the quarterback decided his time at Ann Arbor was up. On Dec. 19, Denegal officially transferred to San Diego State, with two years of eligibility remaining.
