QB Nico Iamaleava fights through pain to lead UCLA to victory over Maryland

By Ryan Lorenz, UCLA Wire: UCLA’s redshirt sophomore quarterback Nico Iamaleava had a rough game in the Bruins 20-17 win against Maryland at the Rose Bowl Stadium on Saturday. However, he fought through the pain and shrugged off a ferocious hit to carry his team to the winner’s circle. That earned a lot of respect, and social media reacted passionately to his gutsy game-winning performance.

Iamaleava and the Bruins offense struggled to move the ball in Pasadena, and he had a hat trick of turnovers with two interceptions and a fumble.
