By Chris Karpman, SunDevil Source: The proverbial shooting oneself in the foot ironically began with the actual foot of Parker Lewis. Before the clock had even started in Arizona State’s first-ever Big 12 game, the junior kicker hooked his opening drive some 20 yards shy of its intended destination and out of bounds.
There wasn’t a one-shot penalty or a forced re-tee of the ball but the Sun Devils limped around the field on defense after the 15-yard punishment as Texas Tech marched to take a touchdown lead that it would never relinquish.
