Duck Territory: Just minutes before kickoff, Justin Herbert learned that he would be making his first NFL start against Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Although the Los Angeles Chargers would fall in overtime the 2019 Super Bowl MVP Mahomes had some strong words of encouragement for the rookie quarterback.
In a video released by NFL Films and with Mahomes wearing a microphone, the two were captured sharing a moment during the postgame handshakes on the field.
