By Barry Bolton, CougFan: Washington State Athletic Director Pat Chun, testifying in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday before the House Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce, pulled no punches in forcefully saying name, image, likeness (NIL), in its current form, is toxic for WSU’s student-athletes.
“Although true NIL provides tremendous opportunities for student-athletes, the existing environment consists of recruiting inducements, tampering and ultimately pay-for-play, and is wrought with pitfalls and misinformation,” Chun said.
