By Touchdown Wire via Yahoo Sports: Oregon coach Dan Lanning is sticking around in Eugene for the long haul.
On Thursday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Lanning has agreed to a six-year extension with the Ducks. The new deal will pay Lanning an average of $11 million per year, making his salary competitive with the very top level of coaches, and will run through 2030.
Lanning, who at 38 is one of the youngest head coaches in the power conferences, has spent the last three seasons at Oregon after winning a national championship as Georgia’s defensive coordinator in 2021. With the Ducks, Lanning has a 35-6 record.
