By Grant Hughes, 247Sports: Seventeen Power Five teams hit the 10-win mark last season. That number should dip in 2024 as conference expansion makes league schedules more competitive. Final record predictions released for each team in the SEC, ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 and 15 teams from the new Power Four project for double-digit wins.
The SEC leads all conferences with six teams hitting the 10-win mark this fall, per Brad Crawford’s projections. One team goes 11-1, and five finish in a tie for second with 10-2 records, creating a chaos situation for the College Football Playoff. The ACC adding SMU, Cal and Stanford creates weaker conference schedules, and we’re expecting the amount of 10-win teams to double from two last year to four in 2024.
