By CougFan: On the list of walk ons who Washington State probably shouldn’t have let get away by not offering a scholarship, two names in recent Cougar history — Jordan Simone and Kaleb Fossum — fairly blare off the page.
Simone (Gino’s younger brother) spent two years at WSU — mostly on special teams from 2011-12 — and went on to become a two-time all-conference performer, team captain and Thorpe Award candidate at Arizona State after Mike Breske — Mike Leach’s first defensive coordinator at Washington State — declined to give him a WSU scholarship.
