By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: New Mexico’s Jamal Mashburn Jr., the son of former Kentucky and NBA star Jamal Mashburn, is entering the transfer portal, Travis Branham reports.
Mashburn was a four-star recruit out of high school for then-Minnesota coach Richard Pitino and played a ton of minutes for the Gophers as a freshman and scored double-digit points in nine of Minnesota’s last 10 games during the 2020-21 season. Mashburn Jr. averaged 8.2 points per game before entering the transfer portal for the first time.
