By Griffin McVeigh, On3 Sports: In anticipation of the House settlement, a wide variety of rule changes are coming to the NCAA. On Monday, the Division I Board of Directors announced schools will be permitted to directly pay student-athletes once the court approves the settlement. To help, over 150 ruled are being eliminated by the NCAA.
“The Division I Board of Directors on Monday adopted changes to NCAA rules that would take effect if the House settlement is ultimately approved by the court,” the NCAA said in a statement. “
More than 150 rules will be eliminated to allow for schools to provide additional benefits to student-athletes under the settlement, as a first step toward further implementation.
